MIKE STARRS – LEAD VOCALS

Mike left Scotland in the Seventies to work with Rick Wakeman (Yes) on various productions. Mike was soon signed by legendary producer Tony Atkins for "Marquee Productions" and went on to release several successful singles. Mike toured Europe many times with Jon Hiseman, Gary Moore, Don Airey and Neil Murray as "Colosseum II". There were also hugely successful US tours with "Colosseum II" and latterly with "The New Animals". Mike then moved to Hamburg where he joined Hard-Rock act "Lucifer´s Friend", who again went on to produce several sell out European tours and albums. Mike also worked with "Toneband", who successfully charted in Germany and "Duesenberg". More recently Mike has been working with Lake, regularly touring across Germany and who recently released a critically acclaimed comeback album.


PAUL JAMES – LEAD GUITAR/BVS

One of the highlights of Paul’s career must surely be headlining a concert in front of a 175,000 strong crowd in Red Square. His performance with The New Animals made the front page of the Moscow Guardian, with the headline “Kiss my ass Russia”! In the early 1990’s The New Animals toured Europe extensively and played across the East Coast of America, selling out venues wherever they went. The New Animals released a highly successful album that achieved critical acclaim in Europe. In the late 1990’s Paul joined “Wild Men Do”. They worked constantly, touring Europe and achieving number one hit single in Scandinavia. More recently Paul performed with the Glitter Band, touring Europe and Russia. He is also the founder and front man of legendary heavy rock band “Tempest”. Paul has worked with artists such as Jimmy Page, Mickey Moody, KC & The Sunshine Band, Paul Jones Blues Band, Roger Daltry, Bruce Dickinson, Alvin Stardust, Suzi Quatro. Slade, Saxon, and Motorhead.


MARK DE VANCHE – KEYBOARDS/BVS

Mark moved to London at 17 and was managed by Adam Faith. He played sessions for seven years. He then signed to Chrysalis Records with a band called Wildlife who were produced by Rupert Hine. A change in line up brought in Simon Kirk (Free/Bad Company) on drums and they recorded another album on Swansong with Peter Grant. They toured throughout the United Kingdom. Mark then did sessions for The Kinks and their manager introduced him to John Coghlan from Status Quo. They made an album for Epic Records and toured extensively. He then met Paul James and joined The New Animals. Mark has also worked with Dave Gilmour, Eurythmics, Motorhead, Spandau Ballet.




RICK COOK – DRUMS/BVS

Rick Cook is one of the finest drummers around. Rick’s long and varied career includes drumming for Toute Salute, The New Animals, Euphoria, Rain, Kingdom, Andy Barnett, Buster James Band, The Stiffs, Sugarfinger, Blondied, Ray Fenwick, Barry Homan and Lloyd Watson. Rick has also played drums for The Bruvvers, Chubby Brown, Danny/Luke/Chris (Thunder), Rolf Harris, Tempest, Adrian Smith/Dave Murray (Iron Maiden), Merv/Andy/Jem/Chris (FM), Bruce Dickinson, Doogie White, Scott Gorham(Thin Lizzy), Don Airey, Pat Cash, John McEnroe, Wurzel (Motorhead), Travis Haddix, Eric Faulkner’s Bay City Rollers. Rick has toured in America, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, amongst others, and pretty much everywhere in the UK, to crowds of one to sixty five thousand, toilets to stadiums! Rick plays Ludwig Drums, Yamaha 9000 Drums, Roland V Drums.


FRAZ – BASS GUITAR/BVS

Fraz started his career in a rock band called “Crunch”. Over the years Fraz has toured the world with many bands, playing many different musical genres. Fraz took a change of career direction and became part of the production team for “The New Animals”, where he met Paul, Mark and Mike. Although Fraz didn’t actually perform with The New Animals, he quickly became an integral part of the team. When Paul James decided to put together “MOTA” it was a very easy decision when it came to the Bass Player. With his fabulous harmonies and bass skills, he was the only man for the job!
